about

Translation revisits Theory’s ‘Babylon Dem’ from the Solstice EP (2010), through the eyes of its creator, The Untouchables, Double 0, and Mantra - each deliver fresh interpretations of the original, while maintaining its infectious rebel sound. Up first, Theory sets the foundation with his ‘Dem A Pree Remix’, an update for 2016 that re-explores the critical interplay between the chords and dark swirling FX of its predecessor. Next, The Untouchables brighten things up with a dub/reggae-inspired version, with a live feel to it. Veteran producer Double 0 flexes his musical versatility on the ‘Dubwise Remix’, a heavyweight rhythm for the dance with fluttering renegade sonics and a nasty low-end thump. Mantra opts for a more abstract deconstruction of the original on the ‘Charlatan Remix’, crafting a menacing and hypnotic tribal sound from the echo chamber, with sinister reverberations to close things out.
