Translation Recordings explores the subterranean side of the 170 BPM spectrum with “Bassment Beats Vol. 1” featuring tracks from an Dayni & Kenobi (Switzerland), Voyage (UK), DBR (UK) & Mtwn (Belgium), and Giocator (Hungary). Each track delves deeper into an experimental chamber of exploratory breakbeat structures, dark cinematic atmospherics, and floor-shattering bass weight.

Up first, “Junkanoo” kicks things off on a futuristic dub-style vibe that gets heavier with the mechanized amen rhythm of “The Cell.” “Hoodz Up” is an absolute thumper of a track, whose swing-step will have you bobbing your head wherever you’re listening from. “Fate of the Unfaithful” rounds out the EP with the rising action of aggressive, neck-snapping drums that let you know you’ve reached the final level of the dungeon… Or have you?
