Translation Recordings' inaugural release comes courtesy of Finland 's rising star Resound and is a heavy slice of dub-wise futurism. Opening with a bubbling miasma of metallic echo and reverb, crunchy pitch-bending breakbeats, and spiraling vocal samples, 'Sounds of the City' quickly reaches a full galloping pace with rugged snares, crashing cymbals, punishing sub-bass kicks, and snarling resonations. Turn to the flipside for 'Greedy Faces,' a claustrophobic sci-fi roll out, with frantic rhythms, gurgling reverse-gate bass riffs, and ominous synth stabs and effects. This is modern urban chaos manifested through sound.
