Alegria This is how I like my halfsteppers. With style and a good melodic hook to drive it all.

about

Translation Recordings celebrates the dog days of summer by paying homage to dub and reggae with a seamless selection of riddims from Theory, Mr Foul, Morphy, Flatliners, and The Untouchables. Up first, Theory delivers pure dancehall heat on the EP's signature track, 'Not Your Fool,' where dub delayed edits and piano skanks sail over a vibrant brass lead, swing time percussion, and a wobbling bass groove. Up next is Mr Foul's 'Hills of Zion,' a half-tempo reggae-meets-jungle number with tumbling drums, amen switch-ups, and bouncing 808 bass. Morphy and Flatliners combine forces on 'Evil Dub' to create a mysterious and hypnotic vibe with echoing guitar skanks, dub sirens/fx, and vocals, all floating atop a deep and pulsing sub bass. The Untouchables bring the EP to a close with the tribal sounds of 'Lion of Judah,' to reminds us of a core part of drum&bass' foundational roots.
